Itinerary

The itinerary for the weekend will look something like this:

  • We will pick you up from a pre-arranged, well-known spot in Auckland on Friday afternoon and transport you down to your accommodation at Piper’s Lodge in National Park.
  • You will get a comfortable, warm sleep in your temperature controlled room and wake up to a yummy continental and cooked breakfast giving you all the energy you need for your exciting day!
  • Once you are bundled up and ready we will transfer you up to Whakapapa ski field on the north-western slopes of Mt. Ruapehu.  Mt Ruapehu is New Zealand’s largest ski area so here you will be in good hands with the staff of RAL.  They will sort you out with gear and lessons.  With 50% of the ski field classified as intermediate you will have plenty of terrain to ride and challenge yourself.
  • We’ll pick you up Saturday afternoon and transfer you back to Piper’s Lodge where you can take full advantage of the facilities.  Relax by the fire, soak in the hot tub, rejuvenate your energy with a 3 course dinner and maybe get in a few games of table tennis or pool before hitting the sack
  • Wake up on Sunday and do it all over again!  Continental and cooked brekkie, transfer up to Whakapapa, and another awesome day of lessons.  Except today you will already have 4 hours of lessons behind you so you can take advantage of the variety between trails, allowing you to seek out the bumps, chutes, drops, bowls or nice wide runs.
  • Once you have pushed yourself to the limit, allow us to transport you back to Auckland while you relax and celebrate your accomplishments of your weekend away.

Price includes:

  • Return transport from Auckland to Pipers Lodge in National Park
  • 2 nights’ dorm style accommodation at Pipers Lodge (room sleeps 4, double upgrades available)
  • Daily mountain shuttle to ski fields
  • 2 x continental and cooked breakfast
  • 1 x 3-course dinner (Saturday night)
  • Social facilities at Piper’s Lodge (hot tub, table tennis, pool table, fireplace)
  • 2 days of 1hr 50min ski or snowboard group advanced beginner lessons
  • Saturday and Sunday all mountain day lift pass
  • 2x full day hire of skis, boots and poles OR snowboard and boots.

Although we have all the details for the weekend covered, even we can’t control the weather.  You are probably thinking what a waste if the weather is bad and we can’t get go skiing or snowboarding.  Put your mind at ease because we’ve got a solution!  We have many other adventure activities available for your group to choose from instead.  We have teamed up with some other awesome tour operators to arrange discounted prices on activities for you that are usually only offered to operators and employees only!  The activities available are listed below:

  • Sledge rental
  • Climbing wall
  • Winter Tongariro crossing
  • Turangi Hot Pools
